According to a report by Solana Foundation in 2021, we saw a jaw-dropping energy consumption of 268.19 kWh per transaction on Ethereum. This is equivalent to the power consumption of an average U.S. household over 9.06 days.

In terms of carbon footage, it emits 149.59 kgCO2, equivalent to 331,543 VISA transactions or 24,932 hours of watching Youtube.
